Facebook fans, rejoice! Betty White has said yes to "Saturday Night Live."

The former "Golden Girls" star confirmed she will appear on the late night comedy show this season, reports People.com.

White shared the good news at Elton John's annual Oscars viewing party on Sunday night.

"I don't know why or how," she says, "but it's been wonderful," she said of her sudden currency.

Fans launched a massive online push, including a Facebook group, for the 88-year-old legend to host "SNL" after she appeared in a popular Snickers ad during the Super Bowl.


The Facebook page "Betty White to Host SNL (please?)!" has almost half a million supporters.

There's no word yet the details of White's appearance.

She may appear alongside former SNL vets Molly Shannon, Tina Fey and Amy Poehler in a special "Women of Comedy" episode, according to Entertainment Weekly.

It's been quite a year for the former "Golden Girl."

In addition to her cameo in the Snickers ad, White starred in "The Proposal" with Sandra Bullock and Ryan Reynolds.

She also received a lifetime achievement award from the Screen Actors Guild in January
